Join the safest and most enjoyable ride on Cape Cod, spanning 11 towns and benefiting 19 nonprofits. There are three distances, all of which end in a celebration at Motta Field in Provincetown with food trucks and cold brews from Barnstable Brewing. Don't miss out!

 

Event Details

The Second Summer Cycle is the perfect event for riders of all levels, offering a picturesque journey through 11 historic Cape Cod towns and a strong commitment to rider safety. Three distances are being offered, 33, 69, and 100 miles with the final stop being a celebration at Motta Field in beautiful Provincetown. Dance to the music of Sarah Swain and the Oh Boys, use your $30 worth of vouchers provided as part of your registration to purchase food from 4 different food trucks, to include cold beverages provided by Barnstable Brewing Company, with Second Summer Cycle cans as memorabilia!


Starts

Century Ride - Meet at Mashpee Commons by the Mashpee library, at 6:15 proceed to the corner of Great Neck Road South and Donna’s Lane. There will be opening remarks at 6:25 with the start to be promptly at 6:30. The parking for the Mashpee start is around the library.


Metric Century Plus - Meet at upper parking lot of Heritage Museum and Cardens in Sandwich. The actual start is on Grove Street and will be at 8:00 a.m. Riders will move from the parking lot to the start at approximately 7:45. There will be opening ceremonies at 7:50. Ride out will be at 8:00 am. There is parking for 125 cars at the start. We are expecting more riders than 125 from the Sandwich start. If you are going to be early we encourage you to park in a legal parking spot in Sandwich village and ride your bike to the start.


33 Mile - Meet at the Orleans District Court Parking lot, 237 Rock Harbor Road, Orleans Ma, 02563. The ride will start at the Courthouse parking lot entrance. At 9:45 the riders will gather together at the start. There will be signs marking the exact spot. At 9:50 there will be opening ceremonies with the ride starting promptly at 10:00 a.m.


If you wish to change your clothes at the finish, you may bring a clear plastic bag to the start and we will transport it to the finish at Motta Field in Provincetown. Included in the registration packet, which will be available on September 11, at the Guyer Barn, 250 South Street, Hyannis, MA,  02601 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. there will be a card stock page, color coded for your start. The page will be for you to put into the plastic bag you provide to be transported to the finish. Remember, the bag must be clear plastic. You must write your name on the bag in magic marker.


Ample hydration and nutrition stops will be strategically positioned along the course, along with medical and physical therapy stations equipped with tents and tables to ensure participants' comfort and well-being.

Hosted by: Second Summer Cycle, LLC, a 501c3, non-profit organization.


Nineteen Cape Cod non-profit organizations will benefit from the monies generated by the riders, each of whom is asked to raise at least $250 for their non-profit of choice, or to be disseminated across all 19 charities, in addition to the registration fee.


Beneficiaries: All money raised by the riders will be paid directly to the beneficiaries. Riders are expected to raise at least $250.00 each, and each beneficiary team is expected to raise $5,000.00.



Registration Pricing:
  • Century (100 miles): $125.00
  • Metric Century Plus (69 miles): $95.00
  • 33 Mile Ride: $80.00

Return to the starts: Bus transportation will be provided back to the starts along with trucks for your bikes. If you wish, you may have someone meet you at the finish line, where they may purchase a $20 packet of food truck vouchers to be used at Motta Field. Bus transportation back to the starts costs $20.00 per person, which includes both bus and bike transportation. The bikes will be in a separate vehicle.


Bus transportation back to the starts: The rides back will be in two groupings;


Century: 3:15 and 5:15


Metric Century Plus: 3:30 and 5:30


33 Mile: 3:45 and 5:45.


You are being asked to choose which time you wish to leave Motta Field when you register. There will be moving trucks for your bikes. Included on the moving trucks will be moving pads to put over each individual bike.


Safety: We will have marshals at every turn to help guide riders, and motorcyclists will be patrolling the entire course.


Support services: Bike shops will be represented along the course to help with any technical issues. There will also be SAG vehicles to help riders who need support or a pickup along the course.
